Austin Scott Tournament

For 45 years and counting the BTA has been the proud sponsor of the annual Austin Scott Tournament, currently USTA designated for 4.5, 4.0, 3.5 and 3.0 and one of the largest tournaments in Colorado, with a turn-out of around 350-400 participants. Check out the 2011 tournament website and keep checking back for more information on the 2011 tournament.

2011 Tennis Marathon for Breast Cancer

University of Colorado women's tennis head coach Nicole Kenneally will join title sponsor Etkin Johnson Group for the Seventh Annual Tennis Marathon for Breast Cancer, Sunday, August 21 at the Millennium Harvest House. The event is hosted by the Millennium Harvest House and sponsored by the Contrino Direct Marketing, Inc., the Etkin Johnson Group, and the Harvest House.

The Tennis Marathon will benefit the Boulder Community Hospital Foundation - Tebo Family Medical Pavilion and assists in the fight against breast cancer. Proceeds of the event help the many mothers, sisters, aunts, daughters and grandmothers facing this awful disease.

As in previous years, Boulder Tennis Association will be sponsoring a team. This is a really fun family event for all levels of tennis players, including men, women and tennis-playing children. BTA will pay the team entry fee, and any member of BTA is eligible to participate. Play will take place between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., with dinner (included in the team fee) served at 6:00 p.m. Participants will have the opportunity to bid on silent auction items from 12 p.m. to 7 p.m. After dinner, Nicole will conduct the silent auction.

The BTA team can have a maximum of 18 players. Rotations are scheduled from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on the hour. Pairing of teams to play each other will be based on the participants’ level in each rotation.

To register for the BTA team, send an email to TennisMarathon@bouldertennis.org. Your email must include for each player:

Name, NTRP rating; unisex shirt size and for tennis players under 21, the player’s age. You may indicate your preference for a time slot and a doubles partner. Your preferences will be taken into account to the extent possible.

Only the first 18 players to register will be able to play on the BTA team, so get your registration in soon!

Because BTA is paying the team entry fee, every participant is encouraged to consider making an individual donation to the 2011 Tennis Marathon for Breast Cancer and to bid in the silent auction.

For more information, visit the Tennis Marathon web site or send and email to TennisMarathon@bouldertennis.org.

2011 Boulder County Cup

Saturday, September 17th (rain date, Sunday, September 18th)

Registration information will go out some time in August by e-blast.

2011 is the 8th year of the annual fun, one-day tournament, the Boulder County Cup. Players from BTA, CVTA and LTA battle the other two associations. There will be food throughout the day and a give away this year to all players. Modified World Team Tennis is the format of play. The association that accumulates the most points wins. The prize is The Boulder County Cup! The cup is engraved and the winning association keeps it until the next year's BCC.
