The Tennis Center
at Boulder Valmont City Park

Valmont City Park sits on 132 acres of land north and south of the intersection of Valmont and Airport Roads in Boulder (near Foothills Parkway). Funding for purchase of park land was provided through a 1995 voter-approved 0.25% sales tax and by proceeds from the Colorado State Lottery. The site acquisition was completed in 1999. The tax provided only enough money to purchase the land and do some initial site development, and, therefore, the City is exploring public/private partnerships for further development. The Boulder Tennis Association is looking into the possibility of working with the city to develop a tennis center at Valmont City Park.

We now need someone to spearhead the planning effort. The BTA Community has so many talented and enthusiastic people we were hoping we might find individuals with the skills and interest who would be willing to help out. Also, if you have expertise (in such fields as fundraising, tennis facility design and construction, grant writing, and city coordination and planning) that you could contribute or provide on a consultation basis, we would love to speak with you as well. We hope to pool our strengths, skills, and talents to make the project happen. If you are interested or want to find out more or even have suggestions, please contact Claire Douthit at (303) 898-1178, Claire Douthit. Hope you will join us!
