HOW TO REACH THE BTA
CONGRATULATIONS! CONGRATULATIONS!
Once again, the BTA is proud to announce that one of its teams has won a State Championship in 2002. The 3.0 CTA Fall Daytime League team, captained by Elaine Harris, became the State Champions on October 10. Members of this team are Elaine Harris, Carolyn Hurnung, Regina Bock, Lyne Cahn, Letizia Roberts, Tali Magoun, Cheryl Lemberg, Lynn Buhlig, and Lisa Sherman. Thank you, ladies, for choosing the BTA as your sponsor organization this season and congratulations on your excellent record!
THANK
YOU! THANK YOU!
The BTA has had a wonderful league season and we have attempted to thank all the people who have worked hard to accomplish this as the season progressed. I have a personal VERY SPECIAL THANK YOU to extend to three very special people who have made this league season happen for the BTA. They are our League Coordinators: ANN LARSON, COLLEEN WEAVERLING and ELAINE HARRIS. All of you who have played on a league team have come in contact with at least one of the league coordinators and have an idea of the work they have done in your behalf. From the phone calls, ratings clinic, fee collections, coordinating with the Colorado Tennis Association, membership facilitating, court scheduling with the City of Boulder, to counseling for new team captains, and rules and policy interpretation, they are always on the front lines, working for the team players.
THANK
YOU SO VERY MUCH FOR THIS GREAT LEAGUE SEASON!
NEXT
YEAR! LEAGUE SEASON 2003!
We are always forward looking and we hope you will be, too.
Be looking for your December issue of “Colorado Tennis” for important information about the 2003 league season, including:
WE HOPE YOU WILL JOIN US FOR
LEAGUE SEASON 2003!
As I write this letter, we are in the midst of our first real snowstorm of the season. Maybe your thoughts like mine are turning to skiing. I hope to have made my first run before you read this!
However, tennis does go on all year and your Board still has lots of things and ideas we are following up on.
We do hope that you will join us for the Annual Meeting and Elections on November 8. This is much more informal, more fun and less complicated than the elections you participate in a few days earlier.
Read the “Incidental Notes” for more of the activities that are still on going.
Due
to our winter conditions the results of the Playoffs should be in next month’s
newsletter.
INCIDENTAL
NOTES
Saturday Morning Drop In
This fun activity will continue on an informal
basis. Dan Lowry did a phenomenal job this past season and everyone who came
seemed to enjoy themselves.
Bring your own balls as the last of the BTA case was used for the Charity and Recycle
tournament.
Perhaps some of you who have joined in a number of
times will undertake to do the mixing up of players. People do like to move
around partners. Don’t be shy.
BTA
Recycle and Charity Tournament
Armando Gingras
The annual BTA Recyle Charity tournament was held on Oct. 19 as scheduled. Therewere 13 participants who fought furiously for the honor of having their name etched on the tourney's travelling trophy. Not surprisingly, Jim Graham bested the competition. Our hearty congrats go to Jim.
With a small supplement from the BTA Board, $150 dollars were sent to Boulder Emergency
Family Assistance Agency. They were overwhelmed when Valerie delivered the proceeds.
Thank you 2002 Volunteers
Some of you may be thinking “Hey, I didn’t do anything.” As far as we are concerned you volunteered and that is something even if we didn’t use you this year. Do offer again in 2003. Your input is needed and appreciated.
